Sustainability goals
We are committed to supporting Norway’s journey toward zero emissions by increasing the availability of sustainable aviation fuel. This enables both airlines and businesses to achieve a direct, measurable reduction in their climate footprint.
AFSN’s path to sustainable operations and emission reductions
At AFSN, sustainability is at the heart of our business strategy. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of aviation fuel by focusing on sustainable fuel solutions and responsible operations. Our sustainability strategy revolves around three key areas: the promotion of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), the reduction of our operational emissions, and collaborative efforts with stakeholders to drive industry-wide change.
Our primary goal is to be a leader in the adoption and distribution of SAF, which can reduce aviation-related carbon emissions by up to 80%. By incorporating SAF into our offerings and ensuring that it is readily available at our locations, we are helping to pave the way for a more sustainable future in aviation. In addition to meeting mandated SAF volumes, AFSN aims to expand SAF availability for voluntary purchases, empowering our customers to reduce their carbon footprints.
AFSN is also committed to reducing the carbon emissions from our own operations. We are transitioning our vehicle fleet from diesel to renewable diesel (HVO) and exploring the electrification of our ground support equipment. Our goal is to achieve an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions from our vehicle operations by the end of 2024.
Beyond our internal efforts, we work closely with industry stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and authorities, to foster a collaborative approach to sustainability. Together, we are building the infrastructure and market demand necessary to make SAF and other sustainable technologies a lasting part of the aviation industry.
By aligning our sustainability efforts with these goals, AFSN is taking meaningful steps toward contributing to Norway's net zero journey and ensuring a more sustainable future for aviation.
